Keith Chegwin, who will be starring in the 2013 Wyvern pantomime
THE Wyvern Theatre has announced that Keith Chegwin will headline the Swindon pantomime for a third year running.
The star, who is about to take to the stage as Wishee Washee in this year's production of Aladdin, said he was thrilled to be at the Wyvern once again.
“I’m so excited,” said Keith.
“Panto at the Wyvern Theatre has become part of my Christmas routine now – Swindon’s my Christmas home.”
Keith will have a busy 2013 which begins with joining the line-up for Dancing On Ice.
The star, who crashed out of the last series before performances in Cinderella last year, has returned to the ice and this time it’s personal.
He will also appear in a brand-new feature episode of Ricky Gervais’ Life’s Too Short alongside Shaun Williamson and Les Dennis.
Cheggers will then return to the Wyvern to perform the hilarious role of ‘Silly Billy’ in the theatre’s 2013-2014 pantomime Jack and the Beanstalk.
“As with many theatres in the UK, the Wyvern has forged a strong connection with its pantomime’s leading star,” said Theatre Director Derek Aldridge.
“We love Keith, the audience love Keith and it is therefore my pleasure to invite him back to the Wyvern.”
Jack and the Beanstalk will run at the Wyvern Theatre from December 7 to January 5, 2014.
Tickets will be on sale from Friday at www.wyverntheatre.org.uk
And don’t forget – there are still tickets available to see Keith Chegwin in this year’s magical pantomime adventure Aladdin, which opens on Saturday.
Book online at www.wyverntheatre.org.uk or call the Ticket Office on 01793 524481.

Fair play to him, we all have to make a living in whatever way we can - some people have to do it in the media spotlight and that's bound to attract 'haters' but so what, at least he's trying.
Alcoholism is an illness and he is coping with it as best he can - it just goes to show, Cheggers can't be boozers.

As soon as the posters of Cheggers went up around the town, earlier this year, they excitedly recognised him, some 8 or so months later.
I thought the 2011 show was great fun, exactly what a Pantomime should be, camp, loud, funny, a little scary but most of all, a great day out for a family, especially the children.
Keith, if you're reading this, there are some of us pleased to see you back and we wish you all the luck in the world/leg breaking sentiments.
(insert "he's behind you" reference here).
