Judges have shot down an appeal to extend the minimum 25 year jail term of killer cabbie Chris Halliwell's sentence.
The Crown Prosecution Service referred the 48-year-old's to the attorney general, who in turn lodged an appeal under the Unduly Lenient Sentence scheme.
The basis of the CPS argument was that Halliwell, of Ashbury Avenue, nythe, should have been a life sentence with a minimum of 30 years for the given at least for the murder of Sian O'Callaghan in march last year.
Court of appeal judges today ruled that the sentence handed down by High Court judge Mrs Justice Cox was appropriate.
Lord Justice Pitchford said: "We cannot conclude the minimum term was unduly Lenient."
