A new sing-a-long event heads to the Wyvern Theatre in January, with a live band playing 70s disco music fronted by an ex-boy band star and co-hosted by a 70s radio icon.

Audiences sing along, with former A1 member Paul Marazzi, to an array of hits from the 70s, including classics such as YMCA, You Should Be Dancing, More Than a Woman, Night Fever, I Will Survive and Love Train.

The lyrics will be displayed in huge letters behind the band and songs will be linked by iconic 70s DJ Tony Blackburn, whose script was written by Viz founder Chris Donald.

Audiences are encouraged to arrive in ‘70s costumes, so don those afro wigs, jump suits and silver platform boots.

“There’s something about these songs that makes you feel good,” said producer Steve Dolder.

“It brings back a happier time before everyone was worrying about global warming, bent bankers or Boris Johnson; you might not be able to recall the name of the group or artist but within a few bars you’re transported back to a disco from your youth.”

It’s A Disco Night is coming to the Wyvern on January 20. Book at www.wyverntheatre.org.uk or by calling the ticket office on 01793 524481.
