A SWINDON man who is being treated for brain injuries after being found slumped in a street in India is being moved to a specialist coma rehabilitation unit.
Sean Connolly, 26, who grew up in Liden before moving to London, set off for a two-week holiday in India in October but had to be taken to hospital after he was found unconscious.
Family and friends rallied round to raise funds to fly him home and pay for his treatment.
How the former Dorcan Technology College student sustained his injuries is a mystery as he cannot speak.
Sean is at Great Western Hospital and the move means he will receive physio and other forms of neurological stimulation between 9am and 5pm every day.
An update on the Help Sean Connolly Facebook group said: “This will give him the very best chance of recovery.
“Some tests had to be run on Sean before he could be accepted in order to prove to the doctors that there was potential for improvement as spaces are very limited.
“He has still got a long way to go.”
