Nythe school children use wonderful wizardry to learn how to tell stores

MAGIC is being injected into pupils’ writing with the help of a special two week topic on wizards.

All 174 children at Nythe Primary School are taking part in a two week project called Wonderful Wizardry, which included a visit from wizard Norman Newt on Monday. They have also made wizard hats and wands as part of the project.

Headteacher Bethan Fry said: “It is to inspire the pupils to write because one of our targets this year is to improve writing across the school.

“This is a way of tapping into the children’s imagination. Some of the children are really into it. They loved the visit from Norman Newt, there were smiling faces all day.”

The children, who are aged from four years old to 11 years old, have also eaten worms and eyeballs for lunch as part of the topic. Hopefully not real ones.
