POLICE are appealing for witnesses after a man indecently exposed himself near a school in Old Town.
The incident was reported to police at around 7.30am yesterday morning. The caller said the man was standing on the footpath off Hesketh Crescent, near to Croft Road. It is believed he was wearing a red woolly bobble hat, a jacket and possibly a T-shirt, which was light in colour, and his stomach was exposed. He is described as quite old and chubby.
When police arrived, the man could not be found. A Wiltshire Police spokesman said: “We cordoned off the area because we were concerned about the close proximity to a school.”
A similar incident was reported in Gorse Hill at 4.55pm on Sunday.
Police were called to the area outside the Wong Kee Fish Bar after a woman reported that a man had exposed himself to her. He is described as white, wearing blue jeans, a green top and blue puffa jacket and black shoes. He was carrying four cans of lager.
Witnesses can call 101, or Crimestoppers, anonymously, on 0800 555 111.
