THE Central Library will be home to a good old fashioned girly night in as part of a special event to promote the launch of a new book.

Teen author Luisa Plaja will be visiting on April 17 to talk about her new novel The Diary of a Mall Girl.

Luisa is one of the most popular authors writing for teenage girls today with an army of fans following her books. She will be stopping off in Swindon as part of her cross country Lipstick Library tour, which runs for two months, and includes events at libraries across the country.

The treats in store at the Central Library, in Regent Circus, include a clothes swap/pamper party from 5.30pm, where girls of all ages can swap clothes or jewellery and sample nail art, beauty treatments and advice, shopping, nibbles, quizzes and other freebies.

Luisa will give a talk about her book at 7.15pm before signing copies in the second floor reading room area. A range of Luisa’s books will be available to borrow from the library, or buy on the night.

Tickets for the evening are £1.50 for library members and £2.50 for non-members and can be bought from any Swindon library in person, or by calling 01793 466454.
