A 23-year-old motorist has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving after a collision on the sliproad near the Commonhead roundabout this morning.
The driver's red Ford Fiesta was in collision with the rear of a Scania articulated lorry at 3.57am after coming off the A419 northbound and on to the sliproad.
The 20-year-old male passenger in the Fiesta, who was from the Swindon area, died at the scene as a result of his injuries.
The driver of the Fiesta, who was also from the Swindon area, was taken to Great Western Hospital with non life-threatening injuries and later arrested.
The 42-year-old lorry driver, from Hampshire, was uninjured.
The road was closed for 10 hours while the Wiltshire Police serious collision investigation team were at the scene.
