A stray dog has been seen wandering around Ipswich Street last night and most of yesterday.
It is light brown in colour and is believed to be either a greyhound or a lurcher.
The dog was first spotted at 5pm yetserday and was still there today despite the heavy rain.
It was walking with a heavy limp and is said to look extremely malnourished.
One resident, who asked not to be named, said: “I tried ringing the RSPCA but they were not open. I then contacted the police and the council but it seemed that no-one wanted to take responsibility for the animal.
“It keeps running across the road to I’m worried it’s either going to cause an accident or get itself killed.”
If you have any information about the missing dog call 01793 501795.
