DETECTIVES investigating a spate of wheel-trim thefts want to speak to the occupants of a white van spotted near some of the scenes of crime.

Police have released a CCTV image of the van after reports of at least 15 offences mainly in Stourport, but also in Kidderminster and Bewdley, in recent weeks.

In most cases all four wheel trims have been stolen.

Police want to trace the occupants of a small white van which has been captured on CCTV at a number of the locations.

The van appears to have a distinctive roof rack and three lines of signwriting on the side, possibly including the words Plastering Services.

PC Jon Harris, of West Mercia Police said: “Around 15 offences were reported during May, which have mainly occurred late at night or in the early hours of the morning.

“The theft of wheel trims has caused considerable expense – usually around £100 – as well as a great deal of inconvenience to motorists.

“We are very keen to hear from anyone who recognises this van, or sees it acting suspiciously.”

Anyone who believes a crime is in progress is asked to ring 999 immediately.

Otherwise, information can be passed on via 101 or by ringing the independent charity Crimestoppers anonymously on 0800 555111.
