DISCOUNT tickets for two music concerts set to take Swindon by storm this summer will go on sale today.

The Big Summer Session will see scores of chart toppers take to the stage at the County Ground on July 26 and 27, with acts such as Peter Andre, Tinchy Stryder and Wiley topping the bill.

Today, four booths will be set up around the town at Tesco, in Ocotal Way; Asda Walmart, in North Swindon; the Outlet Village and the Brunel Centre in the town centre for people to get their hands on cheap tickets.

Standing tickets will be available for £25 instead of £35 when booked though Ticketmaster online, while weekend tickets will be £40 instead of £60.

Family tickets will also be reduced to £90 for a family of four including two adults and two under 16s, while a weekend family pass will be £150 instead of £240.

Kevin Metcalfe, the chief executive officer at Verelogic Consultancy for the Big Summer Session, said: “I want to do this for the people of Swindon and I want to encourage families to come along, they will both be great nights.

“These ‘90s acts have sold out arenas up and down the country, we’ve got several top 10 acts and we’ve got Peter Andre who has millions of Twitter followers and has the most watched television programme on ITV2.

“The Luminites will also be brilliant – they were a huge act on Britain’s Got Talent this year, and then there’s Alexis Jordan who is massive in the States at the moment.

“We’ve got people travelling from afar for these concerts but it is important to us that Swindon people are there.

“People in the town always say that they would like things to happen here, they’d like a concert venue, but we are giving them 14 great acts in a football stadium, what more could you ask for?

“We need to make this a success, these are huge acts and we promise that if people get behind this then we will bring the biggest acts to Swindon you’ve ever heard of.”

The first of the concerts will take place on Friday, July 26, with acts such as Katy B, Wiley, Tinchy Stryder, Ms Dynamite, Luminites, McKnasty, Alexis Jordan and SD*Jem.

The Saturday night will see Peter Andre, 911, Blue, Atomic Kitten, Liberty X, Honeyz, Five and B*Witched all taking to the stage.

Tickets will be available at the the four booths up until the concerts take place.

Tickets are also still available online by visiting www.ticketmaster.co.uk and searching for the Big Summer Session.
