A HONDA worker who was caught peddling cocaine on two occasions last year profited from crime by more than £35,000.

But James Bradley, who is two months into a four-year jail term, will only have to pay back £845 of his ill gotten gains.

And if the 25-year-old fails to sign over the cash, which is being held by the police, he will face a further 28 days added to his sentence.

At a Proceeds of Crime Act hearing, Recorder Richard Smith QC ruled that Bradley had benefited from crime by £35,087.85.

But as his only realisable asset was the £845 police seized when they arrested him the judge ordered it is all that can be handed over.

Should Bradley come into money in the future it is open to the authorities to pursue him for the remainder of the benefit under the draconian rules.

Bradley had already served a three year sentence for drug dealing imposed in late 2009 when he returned to the trade last year.

He said he had not paid for the stock seized by the police four years ago and he was being put under pressure to pay back the people he got it from.

Police raided his home on Friday, September 28 last year and found almost £5,000 worth of cocaine.

He also had a large amount of cash as well as the paraphernalia used in drug dealing and when he was questioned admitted he had been dealing again for about six months.

The police released him on bail but on Friday October 12 he was arrested in another raid and found with a cocktail of drugs.

At a house in Bowman Close, Stratton, he was found with £756 of cocaine and a series of anabolic steroids which he insisted were for his own use.

Officers searched his house again as well as his locker at the Honda factory, but nothing more was found.

He admitted he had been dealing again during the two weeks he was on bail because he had borrowed money for the drugs seized on the earlier date.

Bradley, of Kilve Close, Park North, pleaded guilty to two counts of supply of cocaine, one of possession with intent to supply and one of possession.

He also admitted four counts of possessing class C drugs, which were two forms of testosterone, trenbolone and boldenone.
