What’s the best piece of advice anyone has ever given you?

One of the General Authorities in our church, President Dieter F. Uchtdorf once said, “Preach the gospel at all times, and if necessary use words.” I think this is the best advice in the world.

Who was the last person to send you a text message and what did it say?

It was from my son Eric and it said, “Get up Dad, we’re going to the gym!” It was 3:40 in the morning!

Which drummers have given you inspiration over the years? (from Karen Turner)

Read my book and you’ll find out – ha! Seriously, Jimmy Gordon, Hal Blaine, Johnny Garin and Ronnie Tutt.

What is it like being a granddad? Is it difficult being away on tour and not getting to see your family as much? (from Jill Little)

The only way to describe being a grandpa…it is like having another child with an extension cord. Thank goodness for Facetime – I am able to converse with my family everyday.

What does the future hold for the Osmonds? Are there plans to release any material? (from Michele Thomas)

We just take it one day at a time and enjoy the ride.

Everyone knows that siblings often experience a lot of rivalry. What is it like spending so much time with your family? Do you ever fall out?

We’ve had our moments like any other family, however, we’ve learned to resolve conflict quickly and effectively.

If you weren’t part of the Osmonds, what family musical act would you liked to have been a part of and why?

The Partridge Family, because they had a cool bus!

What are the best and worst things about being on tour?

The worst is all the treats we are offered and it is hard for me to stay away from them. The best is to see the smiles on our fans faces – makes it all worthwhile.

If you could invite three guests, living or dead, to a dinner party who would you choose and why?

I would invite Andy Williams (because he was my mentor in entertainment), Paul McCartney (because his music is cool), and Joseph Smith (because he was so courageous).

What’s the most annoying question you’ve ever been asked in an interview?

This one – ha!

If you could go back in time, what one thing would you change?

I would go back to the 1970s and schedule more time to enjoy the places we visited.
