THE cast of the Wyvern’s pantomime, Jack and the Beanstalk, were introduced to the Cotswold Players’ cast of the same production - and two Jacks and two Dames equalled one very confused Keith Chegwin.
The Wyvern’s cast took time out of rehearsals to meet the amateur players from Stroud who will present their production at the Cotswold Playhouse in January.
Their production sees the role of Jack taken, as is traditional, by a woman, Claire Howard.
Dame Foxy Trot will be played by Tristan Holland. The two cast members were introduced to the Wyvern’s Jack, Samuel Parker, Dame Trot (David Ashley) and of course Silly Billy, played by Keith Chegwin.
“It is a privilege to introduce cast members from the Cotswold Players production of Jack and the Beanstalk to their counterparts in the Wyvern Theatre’s pantomime,” said Wyvern director Derek Aldridge.
David Ashley said: “Local amateur theatre is integral to the theatre industry.
“It not only encourages people who have never been to the theatre before to attend shows, but is also vital to keeping theatre and local communities alive.”
Jack and the Beanstalk will run at the Wyvern from December 7 to January 5. Book tickets at http://wyverntheatre.org.
