AN elderly woman died following a crash involving four cars on the A433 close to the Thames Head Inn near Cirencester at about 12.55pm today.

The woman died at the scene and a man in one of the other vehicles was described as "walking wounded".

The road was closed by police for a full collision investigation following the crash.

Police are appealing for anyone who witnessed the incident but has not come forward yet to contact them by calling 101 and quoting quoting incident 175 of March 7.
