WROUGHTON: The Science Museum Group based at Wroughton Airfield has applied for planning permission to make use of the runway and events space at the site. On March 1, the group asked to create a short-term research and development facility for testing automated barrier systems due for use at the Dartford Tunnel.
The runway, currently used for light traffic at the museum, will have three pairs of temporary steel gantries installed with height detectors and cameras for testing. The trials would be carried out between 7.30am and 6pm until November, if granted.
