The male police wish to identify following the theft of meat from the Co-op in Eldene on February 7

First published in News

A WOMAN entered a village centre shop and grabbed a basketful of meat before escaping through a barred door opened by a suspected accomplice.

The woman is the latest suspect to be captured on CCTV released to the Adver by Wiltshire Police as part of a joint venture called Crook of the Day to collar criminals for unsolved crimes.

She walked into the Co-operative store in Eldene on February 7 at 2.30pm and filled a shopping basket with meat products.

She then left the shop through a non-exit door which was pushed from the other side by a man, making no attempt to pay for the items.

The suspect is described as a white woman, in her mid-20s, approximately 5ft 10ins, of a slim build with long dark hair. She was wearing a yellow tracksuit, dark Ugg boots and a dark Parker jacket. The man is described as white, early 20s, slim build with short brown hair and approximately 5ft 11ins. He was wearing dark blue jeans, dark waist length coat and brown shoes.

Anyone with information should contact the Swindon Crime Management Unit on 101 quoting crime ref no 54140013580.

Allowed to comment on this but not the story about a thug who attacked an innocent man, and moreover the fact that his friends got away with it.

All the shops I've ever worked in, the barred doors were alarmed as they were fire exits. No alarms? At least it's a fairly clear CCTV pic and she looks...erm.........
let's say... 'distinctive'!

Oh yes. Is it anywhere near the charming, sheep covered expanse of countryside known as Pen Hill?

And there was silly me thinking that you had to be arrested, charged and found guilty in court before you could be called a criminal.

She could always sue them, but that would mean coming forward and revealing her identity. She won't because she is a thief.

The little darlings will be back at it in the next 6 - 8 weeks.
I hope that although not found guilty this cowardly incident is taken into account.
I think his stories have had comments disabled as he tends to get stick for content or lack there of and spelling errors. Personally I think he has a knack of making sad stories a little brighter.

As for this story how was nobody watching her in the shop?
Maybe ask her if she needed any help good customer service cuts theft.

I am allowed errors in my comments I am not paid to write my opinion I am bored with a keyboard.

Firstly please don't judge people who live in and around Eldene!! I remember recently a massive cannabis farm being found in the more "affluent" area of Covingham!! Crims live all over!! However this delight has a distinctive face and I'm sure someone must know her! Why she can't pay for stuff like the rest of us is a mystery!
