THE M4 was closed in both directions this morning after a man was spotted on an overbridge.

Both eastbound and westbound carriages were closed for approximately 40 minutes between junctions 15 and 14.

Police were called to a bridge between the two junctions at approximately 8am following reports that a driver had spotted a man on one of the bridges.

There was a minor collision on the motorway at the same time, but nobody was injured.

The man came down from the bridge at approximately 8.35am and the motorway was reopened.

Drivers should expect delays in the area.

I think he was trying to walk from one side of the bridge to the other.

In other news, a bird was spotted in the sky.

I wonder if said driver thought "I've done my good deed for the day".

*Casually drives past minor incident*

"That can be someone else's good deed".

The minor collision hadn't happened when I phoned 101 to report the chap on the bridge. And yes I did feel like it was a good deed done but don't measure it that way. I just hope he gets the help needed so doesn't feel like he ever needs to look over another bridge.

Well I'm totally confused by this story because I drive that stretch of the motorway every morning between 7.50am and 8.15am as I did on this particular morning and I didn't find it closed at all in fact the traffic was flowing as it normally does...... so to say I am a bit baffled is an understatement!
