CHILDREN will have the chance to make their own dickie bows and flapper headbands as part of Highworth’s May Day Festival on Saturday.

Swindon Libraries will join in the celebrations by having a craft stall at the event, which is taking place in the Market Square and High Street.

Library staff will be on hand between 10am and noon to help children and families make the fashion accessories to tie in with the festival’s theme of the Roaring Twenties.

The stall will also promote the wide range of services provided by the library service.

To coincide with the festival, Highworth Library is hosting a special story time at 10.30am with a Winnie the Pooh and teddy bear theme.

Winnie the Pooh’s creator, A. A. Milne, was a prolific writer who created his most beloved character in the 1920s.

Highworth Library staff are encouraging children and adults to come along, dress up, bring their own teddies and join in with the fun.
