A TALK focusing on how Swindon was affected by the First World War will take place at the Central Library on Thursday.
Local historian Mark Sutton will present a talk entitled War: Swindon in the Great War, in the Regent Circus library’s Second Floor Reading Room from 7.15pm.
Using the accounts of local people who lived through the period, Mark will discuss the outbreak of war, how Swindon was affected and reacted to events, the military units raised in the town and the battles fought.
Tickets are £2.50 (£1.50 for library members) and are available from all Swindon Libraries.
