THE second South West Business Expo took place at Swindon’s Steam Museum yesterday, attracting many visitors from the Wiltshire business world.

There were more than 60 companies exhibiting and a steady stream of visitors between 9am and 3pm.

The South West Expo, launched in November 2013, gave business decision makers throughout the region an opportunity to develop their businesses and meet like-minded delegates.

The Expo was again supported by the Thames Valley Chamber of Commerce Group, which has eight chambers under its wing, including the Swindon Chamber of Commerce.

Paul Briggs, the chief executive of the chamber group, said: “It was a good idea to support the Expo because business leaders can see what’s going on.

“We certainly had bags of positive feedback from a number of companies and the Expo was not just confined to Swindon.”

Monahans, one of the largest firms of chartered accountants in the west of England, were exhibiting at the Expo and held a free workshop on Cloud Accounting which was presented by partner Simon Tombs.

Dominic Bourquin, a tax partner at Monahans, said: “The South West Expo allowed us to present our full range of services.”

The expo also featured presentations by Neil Clough, 2013 BBC Final Five Apprentice Star; motivational speaker Brad Burton, and Jackie Chappell, the first woman chief executive of British Rail.
