A 73-year-old man was airlifted to hospital by Wiltshire Air Ambulance yesterday after falling off the roof of his home.
He was found unconscious at his home in Greenmeadow and emergency services were called.
As the reason for the fall was not known the heart team was also called along with paramedics to assist, resulting in a large number of ambulances at the scene.
It was decided that the best course of action was to take him to hospital via the air ambulance.
Because of the nature of his injuries, the extent of which are not known, he was flown to Southmead Hospital in Bristol.
The incident occurred shortly before 2pm and the emergency services were on the scene for about an hour.
