ONE of the town’s leading nightclubs is set to undergo a facelift later this month and the owners are promising it will be a breath of fresh air.

Bushwackers, located on Fleet Street, is set to be turned into POP in the coming weeks as the popular venue undergoes its latest refurbishment.

The owners are promising POP will bring a new look to the town’s nightlife and will attract some of the country’s leading DJ’s, including some from Radio 1.

There is currently no official launch date for POP to open but work has already begun and the new look club will open later this month.

The venue will be run by Steven Wilson, a DJ who currently works at the Worcester branch of Bushwackers.

Through Facebook, he said: “My inbox is full with so many of Swindon people taking a massive interest in what is going on.

“POP is set to change the face of the nightlife scene in the Swindon area. A rebrand and relaunch of one of Swindon’s most beloved venues is currently in progress.

“Business resumes as usual until the relaunch date which will be officially revealed soon.”

Bushwackers opened in 2009 following a major £1.5 million refurbishment of the former O’Neils and Reflex venue.

There is currently a ground floor restaurant with a club located on the first floor. Bushwackers has been a popular destination for Swindon revellers since it first opened.

In 2012 and 2013, management secured a deal whereby contestants who had been voted off The X Factor performed at the venue a few days later.

When it initially opened more than 140 staff members were taken on and another recruitment drive has now started. Steven is appealing for anyone who is interested in working at the new club to get in contact immediately.

They are looking for people who are ‘lively, energetic and fun’. If you fit the bill, call Steven on 07824379348.
