PROSPECT Hospice is calling on the support of the local community to sign up for one of the exciting fundraising events it will be putting on in 2015.

The charity, which will be 35 years old this year, has announced dates for its flagship Starlight Walk event in June and its annual Garden Fete in September, and added some new fundraising events designed to cater to the tastes of the broadest range of the local community.

The dates are all published in its events booklet, which has been mailed to supporters this month.

In the immediate future, the Prospect 10k – a demanding, cross-country running event – will take place on Sunday, February 22, and the more gentle and family friendly Walk of Memories on Sunday, March, 15.

Genevieve Arney, events fundraiser at the Wroughton hospice, said: “Every year we develop a varied programme of events we think will appeal to as much of the local community as possible, to offer the opportunity for people to show their support for their local hospice in their own way.

“We have kept many of the old familiar favourites this year, but have added some new events we think will be very popular, such as Run the Rainbow in September, a fun 5km run where coloured powder paint is thrown at the runners so they finish rainbow coloured.”

She added: “We have already put details of our events programme online, and people can find out more details and even register for their chosen event by visiting www.prospect-hospice.net/events now, even if the event they want to take part in is months away.”

Prospect Hospice has also added a brand new fundraising initiative to its roster this year with the Belmond British Pullman experience in September, which offers luxurious dining in the sister train to the Venice Simplon-Orient-Express. for which people can pay in advance in instalments.
