A MAN who was involved in violence in the town centre has been warned he could be facing jail.

When Aaron Gleed appeared at Swindon Crown Court he admitted a charge of affray.

The 25-year-old accepted being involved in the incident which was caught by CCTV in Fleet Street on Friday, June 6 last year.

But Gleed, of Frobisher Drive, Walcot, denied having an offensive weapon in the form of a belt with a metal buckle.

Hannah Squire, prosecuting, said they would not seek a trial on that as it was accepted as being all part of the affray.

Judge Tim Mousley QC adjourned the case to Friday, January 23, to give the probation service time to compile a pre-sentence report and released him on bail until then.

“Neither of these facts are indicative that there won’t be a custodial sentence” he told him.
