ENTRANTS are being sought for the third annual Swindon Dragon Boat Race.

The Rotary Club of Swindon Phoenix event will take place at Coate Water Country Park, in Marlborough Road, on June 28.

Last year around £15,000 was collected for charities including Prospect Hospice, Swindon Guide Dogs and Asia Animals.

There were 350 participants, who made up 18 teams, with 2,000 people cheering them on as they took to the water.

David Coe, president of the Rotary Club Swindon Phoenix, said: “This year we are looking for more teams to enter the event, so any businesses who want a fun team-building exercise, or organisation or groups of people who just want to have a fun day out can now register and become part of this great community occasion.

“This year there will also be a dog show, a large variety of lakeside stalls, barbecues, beer tents, free entry to the park, free parking, park and ride facilities, plus all the attractions of Coate Water.”
