PROSPECT Hospice are looking for volunteers to sign up for the charity’s Walk of Memories next month.

For the second year running the Wroughton-based hospice’s sponsored walk will be in the beautiful grounds of Buscot Park.

Dedicated Prospect supporters Phil Hall, Yvonne Keeble and Hazel Rowland are now urging people to join them in strapping on their boots for a peaceful and reflective Sunday walk on March 15.

Lord Faringdon and family will be opening Buscot Park for the only occasion, prior to the estate’s regular opening season during the summer.

For Phil, Yvonne and Hazel the event has become a tradition.

Retired army officer Phil said: “I walk in memory of my late wife Dawn. It is a lovely occasion to be part of.”

Yvonne feels the walk is a great way to give something back to the charity that supported her late husband Ivor, adding: “For me, it marks the beginning of spring. The daffodils are out, and the buds are beginning to appear on the trees.”

Hazel agreed: “I like walking, which makes it a really enjoyable way to help raise funds for a charity that did so much for my husband Derek, and me too, through their bereavement support service.”

It costs £8 for adults to register for the Walk of Memories, while under-16s can register for just £3. Alternatively families of four (two adults, two children) can register for just £20. The event has a suggested sponsorship target of £80 per person or £150 per couple or family.
