A number of tools were stolen from a site in Highworth Road, in Stratton, on Tuesday and police are urging people to be on their guard if they are offered items for sale locally.
Two male suspects were believed to be in a white Transit-style van with a magnetic sign, which they later removed.
The tools they stole were a Paslode 1st fix nail gun, a Paslode 2nd fix nail gun, a 110v Bosch planer, a Makita SDS battery drill, a Makita battery jigsaw, a Makita battery circular saw, a Makita impact drill, a Makita combi drill, four Makita batteries and a Makita tool bag.
Anyone with information about the theft, or anyone offered items for sale is asked to call Swindon police on 101.
