YOUNGSTERS have cheered the hearts of elderly and vulnerable people in Toothill by delivering a splash of green to their doors.
Beavers from 1st Toothill Scout Group showed their support for Swindon Circles after each lodge created a planter to deliver to an elderly member of the community.
The activity was part of the Beavers’ badge work, and Gail Light, west Swindon localities facilitator, who helped the children put the planters together, was greatly impressed.
“We encourage the children to build links with the local community and take part in a variety of activities,” said Dave Roberts, Beaver scout leader.
Gail said: “People find themselves lonely and isolated for a number of reasons and Swindon Circles is a way for local people to volunteer to help make someone’s life happier.”
