Four men have been arrested and released on bail after police renewed an appeal for information to an assault in Wood Street.

Yesterday, police renewed an appeal for witnesses to an incident which took place outside Mackenzies bar on Friday, December 19.

A 59-year-old man was assaulted by at least seven men who then ran off in the direction of the Goddard Arms pub.

The victim suffered facial injuries following the attack but did not require hospital treatment.

A 50-year-old man from Swindon was arrested on suspicion of causing actual bodily harm and has been released on police bail pending further enquiries.

Following yesterday's renewed appeal and accompanying images, four men, aged 26, 27, 48 and 58 who are all from the Swindon area, have been arrested on suspicion of affray.

They have all been released on bail pending further enquiries.
