THE travel expenses of Swindon's MPs have been laid bare for the first time.
The figures, covering all MPs were released to Liberal Democrat MP Norman Baker after he won a two-year freedom of information battle with the House of Commons authorities, and show amounts claimed by them for, car, rail and air travel from April 2005 to March 2006.
North Swindon MP Michael Wills, claimed just under £3,000 on travel expenses with the majority on train travel, while South Swindon MP Anne Snelgrove claimed nearly £4,800, the majority of which was spent on car travel.
North Wiltshire MP James Gray claimed £7,700 in total, most of which was on car travel.
