THE Swindon and Cricklade Railway is welcoming a regular commuter for his yearly journeys this weekend.

The Easter Bunny is riding the lines once again and families can meet him across the weekend.

A spokesman for the railway said: "With not particularly good weather, forecast for the four days of Easter, meaning families are less likely to head for the seaside, Swindon and Cricklade Railway is keen to publicise its Easter Egg-Spress trains, which run on all four days of the Easter holiday.

"And they will feature the Easter Bunny, roaming the train, handing out proper chocolate Easter eggs to all children, and some chocolate loving adults as well."

On all four days of the bank holiday weekend, trains are scheduled to run from 10.30am to 4pm, with diesel hauled trains on Good Friday and Easter Monday, and steam hauled trains, featuring the railway’s recent locomotive acquisition, 3135 Spartan, on Easter Saturday and Easter Sunday.

On Friday and Monday, tickets cost £6 for adults and children, including a chocolate egg for the youngsters, with family tickets available for £22.

Meanwhile, on Saturday and Sunday, tickets cost £8 for adults and children, including the egg for the youngsters, with family tickets costing £30.
