POLICE were at the scene of an accident on the M4 near Junction 15 (Swindon East) involving several vehicles this afternoon.
Two lanes of the motorway eastbound were closed for a time after several reports were received at about 2pm.
Debris was strewn across the carriageway and two lanes were blocked after a collision involving a Mercedes van, Peugeot 206 and Mazda 6.
The motorway was fully reopened at 3.30pm and while emergency services were at the scene nobody was badly hurt.
The Highways Agency tweeted: "The vehicles are on the hard shoulder, debris is clear and all lanes are open again #M4 E/B btwn J15 # Swindon and J14. Congestion clearing."
- Early this morning a lorry overturned near the Membury services on the M4 eastbound.
Traffic was delayed across Wiltshire as a result of a section of the M4 being closed as a 300-litre diesel spill meant the road surface had to be repaired.
