WOMEN in Swindon only have two weeks left to sign up for this year’s Race For Life.
Thousands of women and girls have already sign up to join the pink army to take up the fight with cancer for this year’s event, which will take place on May 30 and May 31 in Lydiard Park.
Entry closes on Friday, May 29, and organisers are encouraging mums, daughters, grannies, sisters, friends and workmates who want to take part in the 5km and 10km women-only events in aid of Cancer Research UK to sign up as soon possible at raceforlife.org
Michelle Leighton, events manager for Race For Life in Wiltshire, said: “We are thrilled that so many women have entered Race For Life events in Swindon.
"But we still have places left so we are urging women to sign up as soon as possible.
“Race For Life is not competitive and it’s not about being fit or fast. You can walk, jog, or run around the course if you like.
"These events are about the feel-good factor that comes from being part of the ‘pink army’ as thousands of women come together to defeat cancer.”
Last year 3,700 women took part in Race For Life in Swindon and helped raise £223,000 for Cancer Research UK. This year it is hoped they will raise £250,000.
This year the event has teamed up with Tesco to inspire women to join the events around the country.
