POLICE are appealing for information in relation to an incident of criminal damage in Wroughton which saw swastikas daubed on a car windscreen and on a bus stop.

The vandalism was carried out some time between 1am and 8am this morning.

The damaged car was parked in Edgar Row Close while the bus stop targeted was in Wharf Road.

West Sector Sergeant, Dave Flynn, said: "Enquiries are currently at a very early stage, but the criminal damage is being classified as racially motivated, although it does not appear that any individual has been targeted.

"Graffiti can be costly to remove and can be upsetting for any victims involved.

"The local Neighbourhood Policing Team are increasing patrols in the area and we would like to hear from anybody who saw or heard any suspicious activity in the Wharf Road or Edgar Row Close area during these times to contact us immediately."

Anyone with information should call 101. Alternatively, call Crimestoppers on 0800 555 111 where information can be left anonymously if preferred.
