A 12-YEAR-old girl who survived a rare childhood cancer joined stars of the music world for a charity concert at London’s Royal Albert Hall.

Ella Kilty, from Wroughton, performed at the Rays of Sunshine concert as part of the charity’s Wish Choir - a troupe of 25 children living with serious or life limiting illnesses who have all had their wishes granted by the charity.

Inspirational Ella took centre stage to perform Bring Me Sunshine alongside multi-platinum superstars Pixie Lott and Aston Merrygold, from JLS.

The concert with a difference had around 1,500 seriously ill children in the audience.

And Ella was able to fulfil two of her greatest wishes - to step onto the stage and sing and to meet her idols, girl super-group and X Factor winners, Little Mix.

And like a true A-lister, brave Ella kept cool under pressure as she mingled backstage with the superstar line-up, which also included singer Ne-Yo and boyband heartthrobs, Union J.

Proud mum Ceri said: “I think I was more worried about Ella than she was, she went right up to Little Mix and got selfies with each of them and she said they were absolutely lovely.

"I didn’t think it was possible for her to be a bigger fan but she loves them more than ever now.”

Ella was given the full VIP treatment, including professional hair and make-up by a team of trained stylists and goodie bags from event sponsor, Frankie and Benny’s.

She also made a surprise appearance with vocalist Sonna Rele to sing the Cinderella theme tune, Strong.

Ella was diagnosed with rare eye cancer Retinoblastoma, only seen in children under five, following a routine eye test at the age of four.

Retinoblastoma causes the cells of the retina, the light sensitive lining at the back of the eye, to grow rapidly and out of control.

Following a battery of tests it was revealed Ella had a large tumour that was in danger of severing her optic nerve. At age five she had to have her left eye removed to save her life. She now wears a glass eye and has been cancer-free for seven years.

Seeing the year-seven student singing on stage and realising her long-held dream moved mum Ceri to tears.

“I thought I’d be okay but when I saw her up there looking so happy I had a little cry. I was delighted for her,” she added.
