A MAN who launched a racially aggravated assault on an asylum seeker has been remanded in custody by a judge.
Taha Bakhit, of Crombey Street, attacked the man with a stick and fire extinguisher during the incident on Monday, April 13.
The 24-year-old, who needs a Sudanese interpreter, pleaded guilty to racially aggravated common assault at an earlier appearance before magistrates.
Bakhit, who is currently in Glen Parva prison on the edge of Leicester, was not brought to the hearing at Swindon Crown Court.
Recorder David Bartlett adjourned the case to Friday, August 14, so a psychiatric report can be carried out on him.
