TWINKLE-TOED tots and the some of the world's greatest performers are set to share the stage in a joint venture between Tanwood School for Performing Arts and Liberatus.

The two schools, which share a building in the Isis Trading Estate, will both grace the boards at the Wyvern Theatre on July 19 in a showcase of classwork and world class performance.

The first half of the evening will feature a range of class work and individual and group pieces for Tanwood youngsters, aged from two-and-a-half years old upwards, before Liberatus Dance School dominates the stage with a showcase from some of the best talent in the world from their full-time students.

Pollyann (corr) Tanner, director at Tanwood, said: "For Tanwood it's a showcase of everything we do in the school from the baby classes presenting some of their classwork to pieces from our pupils who have won competitions during this year.

"We share a building with Liberatus, which operate from about 8.30am to 4pm before we come in from about 4pm to 9pm and they will do the second half.

"They usually do their show in Bristol but this year they wanted to do something in Swindon so they asked if they could do something as pat of our show.

"That's why we've called it class to world class - the first half will be a showcase of the classwork we do while the second part will be from some of the expert choreographers and full time dance students going on to do great things in the business."

Pollyann said the sell-out show is bound to have audiences marvelling while also giving Tanwood pupils the chance to imagine where their own dancing shoes could take them.

"All the students are very excited," she said. "Being able to perform is always great experience for pupils and although it will mean a quick dressing room swap during the interview it means Tanwood students can see the whole of the Liberatus performance and vice versa.

"It's a great opportunity for our students to be inspired by Liberatus students and see what they might be able to do in their future."

While Pollyann is looking forward to the show, it comes hot on the heels of a smaller show in May and just a few months after a mammoth performance to celebrate the 70th anniversary of the school.

"It doesn't feel that long ago that we did that mammoth performance last year," she said. "I think a lot of parents will be lookin forward to not doing much more for a while."

The performance starts at 6pm.
