WHAT’S IT LIKE?
Elizabeth I was Queen of England when The White Hart first opened its doors.
The inn had to wait more than 250 years to reach its heyday, which came after the Vale of White Horse hunt split into two ‘counties'. The hunt built new kennels on the edge of town in 1886 and Cricklade became a major centre for hunting in the area.
The White Hart was rebuilt in 1890 to provide suitable accommodation for hunters who would stay for part of the season. Even today, it still exudes late Victorian comfort whether you are staying overnight or just visiting the large, plush lounge.
WHO GOES THERE?
Located just off the A419 midway between Swindon and Cirencester, the hotel is ideally placed for those touring the area on business or purely for pleasure.
During the summer months, the garden terrace at the White Hart is the perfect place to unwind and enjoy a relaxing drink, or dine al fresco.
PRICES
3B £3.10, Carling £3.50, Stowford Press £3.75. A glass of house wine is £3.55.
