A SWINDON man has been convicted of voyeurism and sexual offences against children.
Following a six-day trial at Oxford Crown Court, Brett Saunders, 42, was convicted of three counts of voyeurism and eight counts of sexual assault of a child under 13.
The offences took place in Oxford against three girls between August 2004 and a time which is said to be about February 2010.
Saunders, of Croft Road, was reported for the offences in December last year. He subsequently received a summons to attend court.
Speaking following the conviction, the investigating officer, Det Con Jeff Wheble, from the Paedophile Online Investigation Team at Thames Valley Police, praised the victims for the bravery they showed in giving evidence at the trial.
“Saunders has shown himself to be an unrepentant paedophile whose denial of the offences resulted in his young victims having to go through the ordeal of giving evidence in court,” he said.
“I would like to praise the bravery of the victims in coming forward and helping the police with this investigation.
“This conviction demonstrates that Thames Valley Police takes all reports of sexual offences seriously and deals with them sensitively.
“If you have been the victim of sexual offences please contact police by calling 101.”
Saunders is due to be sentenced at Aylesbury Crown Court on a date yet to be confirmed.
