TWO weeks ago tomorrow a much-loved musician went missing while on his way to an appointment in Bristol.

Paul Griffiths has not been seen since.

Every single day since, his family and friends have been over to Bristol in a desperate hunt to try and track down the former Stadium Dogs star. Search parties have combed much of the city, while people have also been searching for him in Swindon. A massive campaign has also been mounted on social media to try and spread the word of his disappearance.

Over the weekend the family changed their strategy in their searches for him, targeting certain areas to sit down and look. This they hoped would allow them to talk to more people, and perhaps even see Paul himself walk by. He is not thought to have any money on him, nor a mobile phone.

And the new approach paid off, with the family learning of a potential sighting from an ice cream seller in Brandon Hill Park who says he saw a man matching Paul’s description on Thursday.

Daughter Yazmin said: “It is definitely the most convincing sighting we have had, the man seemed genuine and described him as how we would expect him to look after almost two weeks. He told us which direction he had walked off in, although that was now four days ago. It is hard, but it is the most positive thing we have had so far, and is definitely better than nothing.

“The police were doing searches around woodland over the weekend, and the police divers were out as well, and thankfully didn’t find anything. They are now looking at CCTV to try and find him.”

Paul was last seen at around 11.30am in the Stapleton area of Bristol on Tuesday, September 29. When he didn’t arrive at an appointment in the city shortly afterwards his family began to worry and a number of large search parties were mounted to try and find him.

As the family marks two weeks of not hearing from Paul and the nights start to get colder they will be spending their evenings over in Bristol helping out at soup kitchens.

Yazmin said: “We are going to take over some food to the soup kitchens and help out there and see if we can have a chat with any of the homeless community at the kitchens and see if they have seen him.

“It is very special to us that everyone has been so amazing. Anyone that could help has helped –and that has really helped us. We have been over to Bristol every day since and one way or another someone has been up there looking for him. That really is amazing to have that support.”
