A WARRANT was issued by Swindon magistrates yesterday for the arrest of Mohammed Asif who failed to turn up for a hearing to face ten charges relating to hygiene at a fish and chip shop.
Mohammed Asif, 45, was due to hear charges relating to Lemon Plaice in the Neighbourhood Centre on Highdown Way, St Andrew’s Ridge, after food hygiene inspectors working for Swindon Borough Council visited the premises in March this year.
When Asif failed to attend court magistrates issued a warrant without bail.
Prosecuting, Rosemary Heath told the court: “The summons was served personally to him on September 4 and I understand it was discussed with him that he needed to attend court.”
