ONE man was taken to hospital last night after two cars crashed on Thamesdown Drive, with two young girls and a woman complaining of chest pains being treated at the scene.

Police and the ambulance service were called around 7.20pm, when a silver Volkswagen Passat and silver Honda Jazz collided.

The male driver of the Passat sustained minor head injuries, while the female driver of the Jazz and the two children riding in the car suffered chest pains.

A spokesman for Wiltshire Police said: “We attended a two car road traffic collision last night on Thamesdown Drive at the junction with the Orbital Centre at 7.20pm.

“A silver VW Passat and a silver Honda Jazz were involved.

“The male driver of Passat had minor head injuries.

“The female driver of the Jazz and her two young female passengers complained of chest pains.

Ambulance treated patients at scene, and the road traffic collision was cleared by 9pm.”

A spokesman for South Western Ambulance Service said: “We were called an 7.20pm to a two car road traffic collision on Thamesdown Drive.

“We had four patients overall, with three treated at the scene for minor injuries.

“One male had sustained head injuries, not believed to be life-threatening, and was taken to Great Western Hospital.”
