Dickensian is the new BBC drama coming to UK screens over the Christmas period. Penned by Tony Jordan, an award-winning former EastEnders scriptwriter, the 20-part show - split into 30-minute episodes - brings together some of Charles Dickens' most famous characters.
Fagin, the Artful Dodger, Scrooge and a young Miss Havisham, among others, co-exist in a fictional world and a wealth of backstories inspired by the novels lead to some surprising twists and turns.
