THE family of a Lyneham man missing in Thailand say they are very concerned about his safety.

Jordan Jacobs, 21, was last seen on one of the Phi Phi Islands after accepting a free ride with a local man from mainland Thailand.

The following day he sent a message to his mother say he would never see his family again and he was sorry he did not get chance to say goodbye.

His family contacted him back and he replied to say the Thai man would not leave him alone.

Jordan had been travelling around South East Asia since November last year and was due to return home yesterday but he has not been heard from since Monday

Speaking to Mailonline, his sister Emily said: "Saturday morning my mum received a message via Facebook from my brother which basically said he can never see us again, that he is sorry he can't see us one last time, that he loved us etc

“He was upset and said that the man wouldn't let him leave. That he was scared of him.

"This is not like my brother. Only last week he was talking about coming home for Christmas."

Emily briefly spoke to him online on Monday but Jacob was again unable to say where he was as he needed to keep them safe and said he loved his family.

Since he went missing, Emily has taken to Facebook to try and get as many people aware of Jacob's disapearance.

She wrote: "It's been 4 days since someone last saw my little brother. Please keep sharing and posting, it is helping.

“We are being contacted hourly by people from around the world offering to help or with information. From the bottom of my heart, Thank you for all of your generosity.

“Any information no matter how small you think it is could be huge. Any sightings or potential sightings. Any contact. Anything.

“We want to have him home safe.

“We know he left pak up hostel to head to koh phi phi Don leaving behind his other backpacker friends. He left with a local man that he met at the laundrette near to the hostel.

"The man offered to take him to the island for free. That evening (Thai local time) was when he called my parents. He was upset.

“My parents haven't spoken to him since.”

A spokesperson for the Foreign Office said: "We can confirm that a British national, Jordan Jacobs, was reported missing in Thailand on 12 December 2015. We are providing consular assistance to the family."

Mr Jacobs is described as having dark hair, brown eyes and distinctive tattoos on his arms and chest.
