A WOMAN who launched a violent knife attack causing one of her victims to suffer a heart attack has been jailed for 20 months.

Tanya Porter had gone to the home of her two victims in a row about money and the illicit trade in methadone, a court was told.

Once there the 34-year-old, who was already armed with one knife, grabbed another blade and slashed Angela Phull-Wilson's hands.

And when her partner Moira McGregor came to see what was going on she too was cut, before going into cardiac arrest.

Colin Meeke, prosecuting, told Swindon Crown Court how Porter went to the couple's home on Kennedy Drive, Eldene, on Wednesday January 20.

He said "The door was opened to her, they spoke, by her plea she accepts that she barged in to the property. Accepts she entered as a trespasser as did Miss Duggan.

"Miss Porter had with her in her waistband a knife which she didn't, at that stage she said, intend to use. The Crown accepts that to be the case.

"While in the property the discussion, if that is the politest way one can describe it, about money escalated.

"Miss Porter decided to help herself to a wallet that was in the property. Miss Phull-Wilson wrestled with her over it when Miss Porter picked up a knife.

"While Miss Phull-Wilson and Miss Porter were wrestling over the wallet the knife was being waved about. Miss Phull-Wilson was slashed on the forearm and hands causing wounds.

"Miss McGregor, already an unwell person with heart problems, suffered a heart attack at that stage and was taken to hospital by ambulance."

He said statements from medics showed that the cardiac arrest was brought on as a result of the struggle and cuts.

Jailing Porter Adam Vaitilingam QC said "You went in to someone's house and caused injury and caused more serious injury to her partner."

He imposed an eight month jail term suspended for two years on Duggan with rehabilitation and a six month curfew.
