ESTATE agent Ashley Cain, from Swindon, is preparing to take to the streets of London with team NSPCC in the Virgin Money London Marathon on Sunday, April 24.

Along with his teammates, the director of Moovahome Estate Agents is hoping to smash the target to raise £2.3m needed to answer every child who contacts its ChildLine Service.

The NSPCC is the official charity partner for the world’s most iconic race in 2016, a year that also marks 30 years of its ChildLine service. Throughout the year Moovahome Estate Agents, based in Victoria Road, is donating cash to the NSPCC, and locally-based charity Rhi’s Goals, every time staff make a sale.

Ashley, who is also tackling the Dart 10k river swimming race in September, said: “The events I chose are both challenging and rewarding, but to train for both at the same time is testing me.

“I am looking forward to it and have received some great support from clients and friends so far.

“I know the NSPCC were taken aback by our company’s agreement to donate a percentage of sales to the cause and the funds will go directly toward helping prevent child cruelty.”

NSPCC fundraiser Kirsty Joanes said: “It’s fantastic that in this milestone year we’ve been chosen to be the official charity of the Virgin Money London Marathon and, with runners like Ashley in Team NSPCC, it will be our biggest and best team ever.

“When a child contacts ChildLine to tell us they’re being abused, feeling suicidal or are in danger we take immediate steps to make them safe.

“But right now we can only help three out of every four children who try to contact us, and that is why we need local runners to sign up and support us.”
