THAMESDOWN buses across Swindon will be running on a Sunday timetable for both the May bank holidays on May 2 and May 30.

Following record passenger levels on Good Friday, with a rise of 18 per cent in passenger numbers, the bank holidays appear to provide Swindonians with a great opportunity to get out and about in town without the hassle of parking.

Additionally, Thamesdown’s weekend and holiday family bus travel offer, Family for a Fiver, will be available on each bank holiday where a family of up to two adults and three children, can travel across Swindon all day on the buses for just £5.

Peter Oliver, commercial director of Thamesdown, said: “We’re increasingly seeing people in Swindon jump on a bus on bank holidays instead of using their cars to make the most of the shopping and other activities in the town centre.

“By using great value tickets everyone can travel easily on the bus around the town and not have to worry about getting stuck in traffic jams or finding parking spaces.”
