POLICE are investigating reports of a man flagging down cars on country roads in North Wiltshire and asking for money.
Drivers have told of being approached and asked for money for petrol. Some have been told the man has a sick child and needs to drive to hospital.
In one incident a woman heading towards Malmesbury from Minety described the man walking into the road and waving his arms.
Another male driver said he offered to get petrol for the man but the offer was refused.
Drivers have also reported seeing the man – described as Asian - and his silver coloured older-style Peugeot estate on roads near Luckington, Westonbirt, Tetbury and even further afield in Somerset.
Wiltshire Police have asked anyone wanting to report suspicious behaviour to contact them on 101.
