A 33-year-old who sexually assaulting a woman has been warned he is facing the prospect of a jail term.

Kamil Stanejko had pleaded not guilty to charges of sexual assault and assault by beating when he appeared at Swindon Crown Court.

But the case was brought back before the court so he could admit four counts of common assault and one of sexual assault.

He maintained a not guilty plea to a more serious sex assault allegation and that will be left to lie on the file after prosecutors said they would not seek a trial.

Stanejko, of Theobald Street, admitted the five offences against the same woman over two days in July last year.

Judge Tim Mousley QC put the case off to Thursday, July 14, with him on bail saying "The reason for the adjournment is so there can be a pre-sentence report.

"Do not regard that as any indication that you won't be going to prison: these are serious matters that are usually dealt with by way of a prison sentence."
